...in the form of a 540K roadster. A 5.4 litre straight eight with 115 bhp got it moving and as that didn’t sound much even in the 1930s the introduction of the accelerator to the floor unleashed a supercharger (which was the K in the name, for Kompressor) which got you up to 180 bhp. To go with this you got servo assisted brakes, albeit drums all round, and if you paid even more you could get a five speed box. No synchro on the lower two gears, so there was that.
Bring lots of money if you want one.

There’s one at the Mercedes museum near Stuttgart!
And of course there’s the Count Trossi SSK, which I also saw on my one and only trip to Europe, when Ralph Lauren’s car collection was on display in a Paris museum! I lucked out haha. Not my photos tho.

I need one in bright red with a cream interior, but also a metallic grey one with a red interior. Just in case.
